When Label Congress opened on September 29, 2021, Epson America product experts were at booth 37 to discuss the company’s flagship SurePress L-6534VW UV digital label press. The press has been designed to offer innovative technology and advanced features to label converters and commercial printers. Epson is also showcasing its range of label solutions, including its proprietary Epson clear digital varnish ink, at the show.

According to Epson, it has continued to invest in ways to best support its high-volume label converter customers with the SurePress L-6534VW as a core label press for end-to-end digital printing. For example, Epson recently announced new inline solutions for the SurePress L-6534VW, with the addition of a finisher, external unwinder and inspection systems from partner companies.

“In the past decade, label printers or presses have gone from stand-alone units performing a discreet production step, to integrated parts of a production and business environment,” explains Mike Pruitt, product manager at Epson America. “Despite industry-wide challenges, such as supply chains being lengthened, Epson has done well, remaining committed to delivering our customers with the solutions they depend on.”

“We certainly missed the direct open format of the trade event, which offers prospective customers a convenient way to compare label presses and see what’s new,” Pruitt adds. “Nothing can quite compare to face-to-face meetings.”

In an effort to help inform current and potential customers about their options and the advantages of Epson’s new technological capabilities, Epson recently revamped its demo facility and launched e-learning materials to provide customers with more options to learn and engage.

To accommodate the companies that look to do their own research before engaging with a salesperson, Epson has unveiled a range of e-learning materials for the SurePress L-6534VW UV digital label press, as well. Topics include automation to print quality and digital varnish.

“Epson also recently updated its SurePress digital label press demo facility with state-of-the-art equipment to better support virtual demos and live custom one-on-one discussions with prospective customers,” says Pruitt. “Converters can send files to Epson to print in real-time during the demo, and product experts are able to discuss topics that are most important to individual businesses – from varnish and speed to maintenance and small text printing.”
